Materials List

Vintage motorcycle carburetor

  • Dome magnifier lens with segmented ring

  • Assorted brass and steel gears

  • Angular brass gear arms

  • Watch components and tension springs

  • Cast metal base with ribbed edge

Part observatory, part android sentry, Sentinel Cyclotrope transforms a motorcycle carburetor into an upright figure that teeters between mechanical and mythic. Elevated on a metallic pedestal, the piece is crowned with a high-domed optical lens encased in a black segmented collar—reminiscent of a watchful, single eye or sensor node. Angular gear arms arc outward from the main body, giving the impression of both functional motion and expressive gesture.
