Materials List

  • Reclaimed wooden box (frame and shadow box)

  • Plastic bottle base (center dome)

  • Clear flexible tubing (tentacles)

  • UV-reactive adhesive (tubing anchor points)

  • Painted and carved foam board (background texture)

  • Black enamel paint

  • Marbled paper overlay

Suspended in a shadow box like a scientific specimen, Jellyfish captures the delicate menace of a sea creature rendered in synthetic materials. The central plastic form—once utilitarian—is reborn as an ethereal bell, with curling tentacles of translucent tubing radiating outward like a pulse of motion through dark water. Against a black, marbled background, the piece invokes the mystery of deep-sea drift and industrial mimicry of organic life.
