Suburbs
27" x 16" x 5”
Suburbs captures the layered memory of home, where warmth and routine veil the mechanized grid of structure, repetition, and forgotten play. Children’s blocks and mattress springs—once familiar—become cryptic elements in a curated psychological space.

Suburbs presents a shadowed interior view through a reclaimed cabinet door, where a glimpse of domestic nostalgia meets latent unease. Inside, a vivid orange clock dial rises like a sun over a swirled, textured landscape, while beneath it, a grid of blackened children’s blocks peeks through a section of box spring. The distorted forms, partially obscured by fine brass mesh, evoke the coded complexity and hidden structure of suburban life.
