Ruminations

$45.00

5” x 5” x 1.5”

Ruminations is a contemplative microcosm—its mirror beckons you inward, while the soft-edged stones and yellowed text whisper of past reflections. This assemblage offers a quiet space where presence meets memory, and where meaning is shaped by what you bring to it.

Materials List:

  • Vintage mirror disk

  • Assorted found beach stones

  • Torn antique book pages

  • Wooden box frame

Ruminations centers a perfectly round mirror inside a box frame partially wrapped in aged book pages. A crescent of smooth, pale stones—evocative of beachcombing finds—surrounds the mirror like an arch or a thought cloud. The mirror invites self-reflection, while the softened stones and fragments of old text hint at memory, erosion, and quiet contemplation.

The tension between permanence and transience is embedded in the materials: the mirror reflects only what is present, while the stones and print are remnants of what once was. In this small, poetic piece, the viewer becomes the subject, caught between object and echo.
